- Ummm, You don't want to pick/use 28800 as a setting for a program! Even if
- that's the top speed of your modem. Use 38.4. You have to use the correct
- setting, 9600, 19200, 38400, 57600. NOT 28800! I use 38400 myself for my
- 33.6K top speed modem. For both the Amiga and Shapeshifter, it's just fine.
- If your downloading a lot of un-commpressed files and your using V.42bis Data
- commpression or MNP-5 Data commpression then a higher setting is needed, at
- least 57600. The Amiga's Stock Serial port has problems with anything over
- 38.4K in MOST cases, unless you have a Zorro card with Serial ports that your
- using, or If your using a Graphics Card that takes a load off the Amiga's
- processor, you can get a higher setting and not have data overflow, getting a
- lot of resends and just making the file transfer take longer then if you where
- just set at 38.4k. A 040/060 processor can also allow a higher setting, but a
- serial port with a uart chip is much much better.
-
- P.S. I use the normal Commodore serial.device driver.
